I am in favor of cutting taxes under any circumstances and for any excuse,
for any reason, whenever it's possible.
不管在什麼情況下或任何理由、藉口，我都偏愛減稅。
The reason I am is because I believe the big problem is not taxes, the big
problem is spending. The question is, "How do you hold down government
spending?" Government spending now amounts to close to 40% of national income
not counting indirect spending through regulation and the like.
If you include that, you get up to roughly half.
問題是「我們該怎麼降低政府支出？」
不算間接支出或管制之類的，政府支出現在占了將近國民所得的百分之四十；
如果都算進去的話，那就將近有一半了。
The real danger we face is that number will creep up and up and up.
The only effective way I think to hold it down, is to hold down the amount
of income the government has. The way to do that is to cut taxes.
我們面對的真正危機是這些數字會一直慢慢增加增加再增加。
唯一有效率的方法，我想是把它降低，降低到政府所有擁有的錢那麼多。
作到這點的方法就是減稅。
